Princeton Town Homes
If you're tired of yard work or outside maintenance you might want to consider a town home or condo. A Home Owners Association or Condo Association takes care of the outside maintenance and landscaping and the owner pays a monthly fee for this which varies from development to development. Town homes can give a home owner the feel of a single family home, without the expense that comes from owning and maintaining a yard themselves. Town homes share a wall which makes the price of a townhouse generally less than a detached single-family home of the same size and location. Town homes, therefore, make good starter homes for first-time buyers and those who have a limited budget, when compared to detached homes. In town home developments there are standard sets of rules that govern the community. The homeowners association takes care of the daily common area maintenance and trash removal. It more often than not dictates what a homeowner can do to alter the exterior of their town home such as the color of the home, the type of front door, fencing, etc. Sometimes there are restrictions on pets or the types or size of pets. The advantage to this is a uniformity of home. No surprise purple town homes in your neighborhood. The community often has common amenities such as tennis courts, swimming pools, playgrounds, etc. They are sometimes gated requiring permission to enter the community.
